The Sonoma SBDC and Marin SBDC, in partnership with the North Bay Black Chamber of Commerce, will host this two-session training on government contracting.

Join us for two Monday sessions over two weeks:

2/6 – Part One:  WHAT IS GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING?

The first session will cover what it means to do business with the government at the federal, state, and local levels and how government contracting can increase your revenue. 

Additional topics include:

  • What does the government buy?
  • How does the government buy?
  • What is the bidding process?
  • How can you win bids?
  • Assessing if your business is ready for large contracts

2/13 – Part Two:  HOW TO CERTIFY AS A WOMAN, MINORITY OR DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS

The second session will detail the government certifications including Disadvantaged, Women-owned, and Minority-owned businesses. 

Additional topics include:

  • What are government certifications?
  • Why you should consider certifying your business
  • Do you need certifications to bid?
  • How to apply for certifications
