Are you a local artist with a clear creative focus, ready to build your business skills to grow? The Artist Business Mini-Accelerator is a three-month program designed for artists who know their craft and are open to learning new ways to run and grow their art business. It’s a great fit if you’re ready to bring more structure, strategy, and business know-how to support your art.

Whether you’re just starting to sell your work or have an established practice and are ready to take it further, this program will help you get organized, set clear goals, and take actionable steps to turn your art into a viable business. You’ll learn from expert business advisors and connect with a supportive peer group to gain the strategies and accountability needed to grow your art business with confidence.

Details:

  • 6 Classes, meeting twice a month
  • Dates: Wednesdays, Sept 9 – Nov 18
  • Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm each class
  • Location: alternating in-person in San Rafael and online via zoom
  • No Cost: worth over $2,500 (a gift through Marin SBDC funding)

What You’ll Learn:

  • Marketing & Sales: Identify your audience, craft compelling marketing message and explore new ways to sell your art online and in-person.
  • Goal Setting: Develop clear, actionable goals to grow your business.
  • Financial Management: Organize and track your finances to make informed business decisions.
  • Pricing Strategies: Get personalized feedback and guidance on how to price your artwork effectively.
  • Community Support: Build relationships with fellow artists, share experiences, and stay accountable.

    Funding and Financial Disclosures

    The Northern California Small Business Development Centers (Norcal SBDC) is a business advisory service of the Cal Poly Humboldt’s Sponsored Programs Foundation and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S Small Business Administration.

    SBDC services are provided in a nondiscriminatory way to all legal residents and citizens in the United States.

    The program is supported by federal taxpayer funds. By registering for services or training, clients certify that they are legally eligible to receive services funded by U.S. taxpayer dollars, in accordance with applicable federal laws and Executive Order 14218 “Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders (February 19, 2025).”
